It's no secret. The digital economy is broken. The market has become focused on short-term, predatory practices. These practices, including excessive data collection, the reselling of customer data, algorithms designed to distract rather than inform, and so many others, are what happens when software companies become advertising companies.
We had the crazy idea that software companies should focus on making good software. Tools and innovations that add value to people’s lives, rather than trying to be the best vehicle for delivering ads and promotions.
The current landscape of apps and platforms for exploring and engaging with the businesses and freelancers in your neighborhood all operate on the premise of forcing merchants to pay more every year to run ads that are less and less effective, while the user’s experience becomes more and more diluted with irrelevant content, paid posts, and inauthentic results.
There’s a new wave of change however, fueled by the desires of regular people who are tired of the tech industry’s hollow promises and feel less and less in control of their financial lives and neighborhoods.

Our Mission
The future isn't in boardrooms, and it never has been. It's in stores and studios. In the places that feed us and entertain us every day . In neighborhood cafés and the people making their own way every day.
Technology should serve people, not replace them. Innovation shouldn't only benefit a handful of corporations. Corporations have an obligation to their stakeholders as much as they do to their shareholders. The wealth that’s generated every single day in your neighborhood, in your town, in your city, should benefit the people who live there. Who work there and raise families there. That’s what we believe.
Our mission is the ethical adoption of technologies and tools beneficial to every level of society. Our focus is on affecting change in local economies and communities. Our pledge is to give back, using our resources to make our cities cleaner, safer, and more prosperous.
To achieve and implement our mission, we provide space and support to engineers, researchers, and founders who share a passion for our values and turn their visions into reality while collaborating alongside likeminded peers.
In the AI economy, the data people create is the single most valuable commodity there is. For too long though, the focus has been on big companies using that data to push smaller competitors out of the marketplace. As local businesses are displaced, deep-pocketed investors swoop in and buy up the land, developing businesses that extract rather than inject wealth into the neighborhood.
By changing the way people navigate, explore, and interact with their local economy and the data they create in it, we help neighborhoods retain more of the money they make, and ensure that the money spent in the neighborhood goes towards improving it.
